A rare early figure of an English Setter, believed to be model no. 308.13 as designed and hand-painted by Fulgencio Garcia. Lladró was founded in 1953 by three brothers, Juan, José and Vicente Lladró, in theish village of Almàssera. It wasnt until 1956 that the brothers started producing sculptures (pieces that the firm are now most recognized for), made of hard-paste porcelain. Popularity in Lladró significantly increased throughout the 1970/80s which lead to the formation of the official Lladró Collectors Society in 1985.

To this present day Lladró porcelains are commercialized in over 120 countries making the brand prestigious all around the globe. Lladró is often confused with Nao although both are made by the same company, Nao porcelains are finished by the apprentices of Lladró with pieces differing through their simplistic and more colorful form. Daisa (term found on the Lladró back stamp from circa 1977) is the Lladró company name holding the intellectual property rights for Lladró merchandise. This figure measures approximately 23cm long and is in good overall condition. The hounds left-rear leg has previously been repaired and the quails head also appears so. There is a typical rough spot in the grass where the glaze was missed during manufacturing. Please do refer to the provided photos to make your own analysis of condition.

Early Lladro, Made in Spain impressed markings to base. A premium Lladro piece for the collector. Owner Phil is a member of the Antiques Young Guns (AYG) and has antiques experience through his time working at Surrey auctioneer firms. He began preparations for the business at the age of nineteen and it has significantly progressed since commencement of trade.

Phil has previously exhibited his stock at a selection of UK fairs and at Talbot House of Dorking; one of the largest antique centres in the south.
