Goldscheider Largest Butterfly Girl 18.6in Stunning Beautiful & Rare. The Goldscheider Butterfly Girls were designed by Josef Lorenzyl in the 1920's. This particular piece is dated 1927 marked in roman numerals to the base, as can be seen in the photos, and stands at an impressive 18.6 inches in height with the hands spanning almost as wide as the piece is tall.
This design is beautifully proportioned and really looks stunning on display. Ive positioned the piece in one of the photos next to anothee Stefan Dakon piece which stands at over 12inches tall so you can see the majesty if the piece. The piece has the usual marks to the base and what apoears to be the original retail label still present. She is decorated cleverly with almost a see through shear material to the body and very deep electric Blue to the wings. The piece is in absolutely great condition and there is no crazing present at all.
It is quite common with Goldscheider pieces of this age for the glaze to be crazed but I cannot find any crazing whatsoever. I have priced the piece reflecting the overall condition as there is a hairline to the reverse side of her right wing and ehat appears to be a small patch of restoration which can only be seen under close insoection. This does not carry through to the front and isnt innediately obvious until you are close up.I'm sure you will find it hard to find another one like her. I can post worldwide but this will be at actual P&P cost. If you would like a quote please contact me first before purchasing. If you have any questions please do contact me and.
